Patricia Matsumoto, PhD

Hello! I’m Patricia, a geographer deeply passionate about my career and everything I do.
I am currently a Research Associate at the Wicked Problems Lab at Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, where I support students, faculty, and community members in addressing complex research challenges, with a focus on GIS-related projects. My work includes collaborative research involving forests, Black communities, and local museums.
I am a dreamer, love maps, nature, and discovering new places and people. I am also an enthusiastic swimmer, practice yoga and love food, which explains why my dogs are named Shoyu (soy sauce) and Maple.
